The year begins on the first day of spring. Different nations used to have different festivals for the gods throughout the year, and those will return.  Some of those will be in books.

Their rotation around the sun is more standard. Each month is 28 days, four weeks, or the moon cycle. The year/month begins on a full moon.

At the end of Wheel of Fate, the Fourth Age begins.

  • First Age: Age of Dragons
    • The world was created by a colossal dragon. In this time, there were only dragons and the beginnings of a fledgling land.
  • Second Age: Age of People
    • The world dragon created the gods and goddesses of Ambergrove, originally the first people, and gave each of them some of its abilities. This allowed them to create new elements in the world and to create people (humanoids). The dragons, jealous of people and unwilling to share their world, began a great battle. Thus, Ambergrove began to fracture. The lands were divided by race and creed, and the dragons that could not accept this new world were imprisoned in Fengel. The world dragon lay itself to rest beneath the earth and left Ambergrove to the pantheon it had created. Together, these beings opened a doorway between Ambergrove and the closest hospitable land, Earth.
  • Third Age: Age of Science (or the Lost Age)
    • As Earth grew and modernized, when people came to Ambergrove from Earth, they brought different things with them. This included moral and cultural elements like greed, homelessness, war, and power and also included items like firearms and infrastructure like electricity. The more scientific elements came to Ambergrove the less potent magic became. As centuries passed, the advancements of Earth filtered into Ambergrove and corrupted it. Ambergrovians ceased being able to use magic. Magical beings were frozen in time or fled to the isles of the gods. Soon even the gods’ and goddesses’ power dwindled until they were only able to use it for the most minor of tasks. They diminished and returned to their island homes. This is known as the Lost Age by many, as it was a time when Ambergrovian society came to a halt and all the richness and beauty Ambergrovians had come to know faded into memory and then into legend. When young Mara came to Ambergrove, she brought about the end of the Lost Age.
  • Fourth Age: Age of Magic
    • The green flash brought magic back to Ambergrove in one great wave. So began the first day of spring, the first spring anyone living would experience. The darkness from Earth and any items from Earth that were in the Forbidden Lands at that time were forced out of Ambergrove. With the science and other modernities gone, magic could flourish once more. Any peoples who would have been born with magic had they not been born in the Lost Age gained their magic in an instant. With the magic came the magical creatures and influences, the benefits and consequences of the changing of the seasons, and further involvement of the deities of Ambergrove in everyday lives. It is during this age that Ambergrove is able to grow and change.
