Now that the Ambergrovian Adventurer’s Guide is available, the door has been opened for new characters and adventures—both created by the author and created by other players. Revisit this page periodically to see if new characters or adventures have been added.
Characters
Characters are included at various levels based on what level they were played at. You may relevel the characters to suit your campaign needs. All these characters have been approved by the author as built, but it is still recommended that you ask your DM for permission before using them. Characters with an acronym in parenthesis were made for specific adventures, though they are no restricted to only those.
Qaliyun: Level 10 Naadakh
Qaliyun was created as a test of the Naadakh-isms, used for a low-stakes one shot outside Ambergrove, and then added as a character to be inserted in a later series in Tales of Ambergrove novels. She is a Half-Giant (Desert Giant and Human Earthtender), and her chosen subclass is College of Lore (Bard). Unlike standard Half-Giants, she also possesses the Desert Giant race trait (Zen Garden), and unlike Naadakhs, she also possesses a companion animal (her father’s aging mountain mole). Cathal: Level 5 Naadakh (MR)
Cathal is a Forest Dwarf with a Raccoon spirit animal, and his chosen subclass is Guardian (Ranger). He has traveled Ambergrove researching hags because he’s trying to prevent his lost love from turning into a Green Hag.
Lirrok: Level 5 Elementalist (MR)
Lirrok is a test of the Giant+Elementalist combination. She is a Storm Giant Riverbend. As she embraced the stereotypes, she is the pirate captain of a marauding crew.
Loli: Level 5 Barbarian (MR)
SPOILER: Loli, introduced in Ranger’s Odyssey, moved to Aeunna in Wheel of Fate and spent the rest of his childhood there. He became fiercely protective of his new home and his new family, but he didn’t have the discipline to follow in Teddy’s footsteps as a Devotion Paladin, so he became a Protector Barbarian. As per the books, Loli is a Half-Gnome (Gnome/Mining Dwarf). Loli will return in later books.
Mack: Level 5 Cleric (MR)
A native of Marauder’s Cove, Mackerel “Mack” lost his parents at a very young age and grew up on the streets. When he was older, he learned from a Feast Cleric, but something in him twisted the spells to Botulism. He’s an Anchor Spawn (human mother/sea elf father) who renounces his sea elf heritage and is loyal only to himself.
Oakbranch: Level 5 Elementalist (MR)
Oakbranch is a young bearkin who decided to travel alone to learn more about being an Earthtender and using Earthtender magic for what he wanted instead of what was expected.
Tarym: Level 5 Paladin (MR)
Tarym, a Hill Giant who was once faced with a permanent decision and ran from it, became an Oath of Division Paladin so she would never have to make a permanent choice. She assumes a new identity each day when she rolls for Devotion or Destruction.
(MR) Additionally, four characters included in the Adventurer’s Guide have been leveled to 5 for this adventure:

Adventures
Any adventures included here are completely free to download and use. Some may include minor book spoilers. Those with spoilers will be marked.
Marauder’s Recompense (MR): 5th Level
This first author-created additional adventure takes place in Marauder’s Cove 15 years into the Age of Magic (15 years after the events of Wheel of Fate and Ember in the Forge). SPOILERS: While nothing is spoiled about Ember or Mara, we will see some of Hrossdraugr’s crew, a grown-up Loli, and more of Salali in the premade characters for the adventure (above). This is a short one shot that takes place entirely on a ship. Depending on shenanigans and player size, this should be playable in about 90 minutes.*
Players are in Marauder’s Cove when something in the water causes catastrophic damage to all the ships but one. The players are members of a mob that forms to investigate the single suspiciously unscathed ship—to avenge their own ships or injured crew or simply to get to the bottom of this.
*We plan to introduce this adventure at returning festival events as an experienced-player option beginning with Clayshire (September 2025).
